***DEADLINE TO ENTER SCARECROW CONTEST IS 10/20/24***

Thank you for your interest in participating in the Freehold Halloween Spooktacular Scarecrow Contest. We are no longer requiring the use of frames for our contest, so feel free to get creative with your scarecrow displays. 

All scarecrows need to be safely displayed either on your own front yard or on the grass area along the sidewalk in front of your house as in years past. Scarecrows are not permitted to be displayed on sidewalks, streets, trees that aren't located on your own property or any other area that is deemed to be unsafe. 

We do not encourage digging of any kind to create your displays. If you choose to dig in order to set up your scarecrow, we ask that you please call the proper utility channels for a utility mark out. Thank you.

This is a family friendly event and it is intended to bring joy to our community. We kindly ask that scarecrow themes not be political, insensitive, or provoking in any nature. Thank you.

We know that some of our community members will also be entering the House Decorating Contest. Don't worry! We will be able to distinguish between your house decorations and scarecrows because all scarecrows will have to be photographed and submitted when entering the contest.

The Scarecrow Contest will  be all online this year. All participants will be entering the contest via email  and are required to submit 1 photo of their scarecrow by the deadline date. Judges will view all the photographs and award the winners based on the photos that are sent in. 

This is a brand new process for the Scarecrow Contest. We appreciate your patience with us as things may be added or changed before the official contest takes place. Thank you.

CONTESTANTS MUST SUBMIT ONE (1) PHOTO OF THE SCARECROW BEING ENTERED INTO THE CONTEST. THANK YOU!

DUE TO THE EXPECTED HIGH VOLUME OF ENTRIES, WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CONTACT CONTESTANTS IF ALL THE ABOVE INFORMATION IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE ORIGINAL CONTEST ENTRY EMAIL.
